Now the LORD said unto Abram: “Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father's house, unto the land that I will show thee.”
So Abram departed, as the LORD had spoken unto him; and Lot went with him: and Abram was seventy and five years old when he departed out of Haran.
And there was a famine in the land; and Abram went down into Egypt to sojourn there; for the famine was sore in the land.
Abram beheld all the plain of the Jordan, that it was well watered everywhere, before the LORD destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah, like the garden of the LORD, like the land of Egypt, as thou goest unto Zoar.
And the LORD said unto Abram, after that Lot was separated from him, Lift up now thine eyes, and look from the place where thou art northward, and southward, and eastward, and westward.
And, lo, three men stood by Abraham: and when he saw [them], he ran to meet them from the tent door, and bowed himself toward the ground.
And the LORD went His way, as soon as He had left off speaking to Abraham; and Abraham returned unto his place.
And Abraham looked toward Sodom and Gomorrah, and toward all the land of the plain, and beheld, and, lo, the smoke of the country went up as the smoke of a furnace.
And Abraham reproved Abimelech because of a well of water, which Abimelech's servants had violently taken away.
And Abraham said unto his young men, abide ye here with the ass; and I and the lad will go yonder and worship, and come again to you.
